Wake Up On Christmas Morning With The Birthday Boy, Rickey Henderson Setting The All-Time Stolen Base Record

Of course Rickey Henderson was born on Christmas, that is the most Rickey Henderson thing I've ever heard in my life. It's par for the course with the GOAT leadoff and stolen base guy. Here we have Hall Of Famer, Harold Baines up at bat with Rickey on second needing one stolen base to become the all time steals king. Henderson doesn't waste anytime and takes off.
Catcher shouldn't have even thrown that ball, because there was not a chance he was getting caught. Henderson was one of those guys who you know would end up on third base if he drew a walk, there was nothing you could do. He was going to steal and you knew it. Your mother knew it, your neighbor knew it, the beer guy knew it. Rickey was insanely fast, and packed quite a pop too. To go along with his record 1,406 stolen bases, he also chipped in 297 homers, a lot of those coming early in his career. But almost 300 career homers isn't bad at all, especially for a guy built like him.
This stolen base was only #939 for Henderson, just because he got the record didn't mean he was going to stop, he added another 467 bags before he hung up the cleats for good. That 1,406 career bases is a record that won't get broken. No one runs that much anymore, and if they do run that much, they're a glorified pinch runner and won't last long enough in the league to sniff it. Henderson stole 100 bases or more in three of his first five seasons, I bet we won't see anyone close to 100 ever.
You want to know who the closest active player is to Henderson? Jose Reyes at 517 stolen bases, good for 33rd all time. It ain't happening, folks.
I hope you all got everything that was on your list to Santa, and you all enjoy your Christmas Day. I love you all.
PS. A+ celly by Rickey, ripping the base out and keeping it is a boss move.
